Katie Dee began her musical career playing piano and violin. In high school, she was lead vocalist and guitarist of the all-girl garage punk band "The Ready-Or-Nots," and in college was one half of the accordion and bass power-pop duo "Warre."

Inspired by her family's love of traditional Appalachian murder ballads, her own dark sense of humour, and her talents as a storyteller, she began the gothic americana outfit "Katie Dee & The Quaking Aspens" in 2013. "Yonder And Other Stories" was released that year, followed by "...The Sweet Revenge Of" in early 2017. She is based in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. She will be recording a new ep of original dark sea shanties this summer for release in September 2019.
